On the eve of yet another meeting that I am taking off work to attend, I would like to clarify a few things. First; The constitution is the document that tells a local how to govern its self. The federal law requires every labor union local to have one and have it filled with the federal government. If there are changes to it, they must also be filled with the federal government. Just as our U.S. constitution is to protect us as citizens of these United States, our local's constitution is for the same purpose. There are federal laws that every labor union must abide by, Our president is coming dangerously close to breaking federal laws. Second, I believe because of a letter I sent to President Short back in 2001, got Broadway some help. There were several meeting in my theatre where every B.A. from every local ,from Local 1 down to the porters attended. Vince was a no show at any of these meetings. He also did not respond to any Telephone calls. He finally sent word to me and the 6 other members of our local working there at the time thru another B.A. Every other local has a separatre B.A.'s for each area. This was blatant taxation without representation. Upon stating that I was going to call the national labor relations board. Things began to change. Third, Sharon is paid. $4800.00 Fourth, We in the tri-state area are staying abreast of the events. Those of you outside of it need to speak up. This involves you to. How did you get Tom Sobeck? How is he paid? Are you being represented? Or are you just following along "not making waves" "I'll do this just for you don't tell anybody" "Grey area's are good" . Learn the facts. Valerie Gladstone
